Shabbos Bulletin Parshas Nitzavim-Vayeilech

This Shabbos is of course “Shabbos Tefillah” at BTYA.We will iyh be immersing ourselves in learning and studying about Tefillah.

There is a famous “contradiction” among various Gemarras if “iyun Tefillah” is a good thing (e.g, Shabbos 127A and BB 164B) or a not-good thing (Berachos 32b and 55A)

One classic answer–it is NOT good to anticipate or expect one’s Tefillos to be answered. That kind of ‘iyun Tefillah’ is NOT good.

It IS good to delve into Tefilloh, and try to develop heightened kavanah, as we are iyh doing this Shabbos.

There will iyh be 2 lectures given on Motzei Shabbos in the Shul. The first is to women only, and will be iyh an inspirational and practical guide to help busy women in their Tefillos

The second is to educate the public, and especially olim, about the state of kashrus and hechsherim in Eretz Yisrael.

There is no question that both lectures may be given in the Shul: Torah, mitzvah-observance, tzorchei rabim–you name it!
