The minhag is to make a Shalom Zachor — a seudah, or at least mezonos and snacks – the Leil Shabbos after the birth of a baby boy in the house where the baby is, or will be. There is  a specific minhag to announce in Shul about the Shalom Zachor, based on the idea that it is a seudas mitzvah and one doesn’t invite people directly to a seudas mitzvah.
