Chazal tell us that responding to “yehei shemei rabbah mevorach….” with all one’s might, cancels evil decrees. This means (also) having complete and total concentration on the meaning of the words (May His Great Name be blessed forever and ever).

One should pause a bit between “amein” (referring to the previous paragraph) and “yehei shemei…” One should make sure NOT to pause in saying “yehei shemei…” until after saying mevorach.
