Order of priority for berachah by species:

  • Olive
  • Date
  • Grape
  • Fig
  • Pomegranate
  • Other fruit

This order overrides wholeness and preference (e.g. half a date has priority over a whole grape that you prefer).

If you have only fruit not of the seven species:

  • Whole
  • One you usually prefer
  • The one you desire more now
