If one is in the middle of “elokei, netzor…” and has to answer kaddish or kedushah or barchu (which one is permitted to do), it is better to cut short the “elokeiy, netzor…” paragraph, say “yiheyu l’ratzon…”, and take three steps back. (If there is time, one should also say “osseh shalom bimromav…”.)
