Women are obligated in the mitzvah of Kiddush on Shabbos and Yom Tov, both by night and by day. A man may recite Kiddush on behalf of all others; a woman technically can, but it is considered inappropriate for her to be motzie men; a bar-mitzvah boy may in most cases, but before certain physical signs of adulthood have appeared, he should not be motzie on Friday night, Leil Shabbos, an adult who hasn’t davened ma’ariv.
