Shabbos Bulletin Parshas Bamidbar 5779

Women are technically exempt from the mitzvah of Keri’as Shema (it is a time-bound mitzvah). But since the concept of “accepting the yoke of Heaven” is so fundamental, it is proper for a woman to recite “Shema”.

It is better if she does that within zeman kerias Shema.

Good:      “Shema” and “Baruch shem…l’olom va’ed”

Better:     “Shema” and the entire first paragraph

Best:       All three paragraphs of “Keri’as Shem
