About a week ago, we started saying “vesayn tal u’matar liv’racha.” For all you BTYA people who are in chutz l’aretz, or about to go there:

  • If you went or will be going after starting here, keep saying it. Avoid being the shatz. If you can’t avoid that, you say v’sayn berachah as the shatz. However, in your silent shemoneh esrai you should say vesayn tal umatar liv’racha.
  • If you were in chutz l’aretz from before starting here (October 30th), say vesayn tal umatar in the shome’ah tefillah berachah till you get back, and then say it in its regular place.
